So this is my last blog entry! I have a crazy amount of writing to do for three of my classes (all but chemistry). I am thoroughly sick of crafting complete, meaningful sentences about the interactions between politics and psychology, the biology of Drosophila melanogaster’s feeding habits, and the environmental plight of the earth due to climate change. Thank God that at least I’m not writing about these three subjects simultaneously in one paper, as I feel that my ability to impart anything meaningful in this case would be very limited. I need to get away from my computer. And, though for the reasons listed above I would rather not be writing right now, I will give it my best shot for this final blog entry.
Last weekend left me pretty exhausted: homework all day, then dancing at night. Saturday I went Salsa dancing, as L&C’s Spanish Club was hosting the Fiesta de Salsa, and free lessons and music were provided. Sunday I went swing dancing downtown. Usually it costs $6 for a swing lesson and then open social dance, but this week it was free to L&C students. I don’t know the reasoning here, but I decided I could not pass up the opportunity for a free class. It ended up being really fun. We stayed later than planned, which just meant that the next morning I could barely walk to my first class. This Friday there’s a swing dance downtown at the Crystal Ballroom that I’d like to go to, but this Friday is also all the Earth day stuff that I’ve been involved in planning! If you want to check out what cool events we’re planned, here’s a link to our site: http://enviro.lclark. edu/moodle/mod/resource/ view.php?id=2342 I’m going to be facilitating the seedball workshop and helping with second installment of the vegan cooking class.
So, I’ve been discovering the joys of black tea this week. It really does keep you awake! I ran into this situation when I drank three cups in a row. See, I normally drink herbal teas, and I’m used to drinking cup after cup. But, I’ve learned that caffeine has consequences!!...that I intend to take advantage of that this weekend and next week when finals roll around.
It’s so incredibly crazy to me that in a week and a half I’ll be back in NH! I can’t even seem to remember leaving for winter break. It seems so long ago. I’m going to miss seeing my friends from school over the summer. I wish I could hang around Portland a little longer before going home. It also figures that the best time of year for Portland weather are the summer months when I won’t be here.
It’s been great getting emails from all of you readers this year. I hope I’ve provided you with helpful advice of some sort. There’s a possibility that I may be blogging next year, but nothing set in stone. And yeah, yeah, I know I said I am totally repulsed by the thought of writing anything this week, but I know that college decisions are looming large, so if you’ve got questions, I’ll try my best to write a (meaningful) reply.
