Real Life, by Brandon Berg Thursday, February 24, 2005Farewell! As the weeks of the spring semester zoom by I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that I am just too busy to maintain a blog. I probably should have taken some hints earlier on, but when it all boils down responsibilities to school and work with the volleyball program are taking a larger chunk of my time than expected.
But before I sign off, I just want to encourage everyone looking at this school and others with some of my original advice. Go with your gut. While you might be looking at a state school close to home or at an Ivy League back East, just go with your gut. Lewis & Clark is a place I continue call my home, because it feels so much like a home on campus. I could talk to you about the amazing opportunities for hours (like many volleyball recruits have heard me do...:-)), but when it all boils down, you need to make the visit, stay overnight, attend some classes and see if you like living here.
I hope my blog has provided some insight to some of you. My experience is definitely unique and I think in many ways everyone finds their niche at Lewis & Clark. From working in admissions to being a student-athlete, being a parking lot monitor or mail room attendant, or simply the student with two theses due in the same semester, each student has an opportunity to come and carve their own unique Lewis & Clark experience.
Best of luck!
And as always, feel free to contact me, especially potential volleyball players. Any setters out there?
