BIO 312 Molecular Biology Lab

Content: Introduction to molecular cloning techniques, including the polymerase chain reaction, plasmid construction, transformation, and DNA sequence analysis. Students carry out a semester-long project using these techniques to construct an expression vector that is used to answer studentgenerated questions.
Prerequisites: Biology 151. Biology 200 or consent of instructor. Chemistry 120.
Taught: Annually, 2 semester credits.
